Microdermabrasion Before and After Photos

Microdermabrasion makes the skin smoother, softer, younger and gives it the natural glow.  The results are best noticed by comparing the before and after photos and reading the testimonials of people who had already undergone the procedure. The effects of microdermabrasion may vary from person or person and are mostly determined by factors such as skin type, treatment type and the extent of skin imperfections.

Microdermabrasion obviously has varying effects on different people. My friend Sarah who had undergone the procedure for acne scar treatment claims that she could see a lot of improvement on her skin. She had a mild form of acne. She was attracted to microdermabrasion due to the fact that it is painless, cheap and non-invasive. The method removes dirt and oil that causes inflammation by gentle abrasion and suction methods. The skin layer that is sucked off consists of merely dead cells. Therefore skin is not damaged by this procedure.

Sarah had a total of six treatment sessions done. Even though she could see changes on her skin after a few sessions, she was a little disappointed as she was hoping for instantaneous results. She had an increase in breakouts immediately after the treatment and her face had become a little reddish.  The breakouts that occur are mainly caused by the bacteria being pulled to the surface. This is referred to as purging. These were just temporary effects and overall Sarah is happy and satisfied with the results. Her skin has become smoother, softer, more beautiful and glowing. The total cost for all the six sessions came up to a little under $700 and this way too less than what she might have had to spend, had she opted for cosmetic surgery. Another thing that she was most impressed about was that each session had taken only about 15 minutes and she could take the appointments at lunch break. She didn’t have to put off other activities to find time for the treatment.

Some people who have gone through the microdermabrasion process have complained about flakiness and irritation of their skin. Since the treatment method works by removing the outermost layer of dead cells from the skin, it causes the underlying layer to be exposed. This layer is extremely sensitive to sunlight and so before going out, it is recommended that you use an SPF lotion to protect your skin from the UV rays. Also the first two or three days would require your skin to be sufficiently moisturized. It would be good if you apply a moisturizing cream three or four times a day to prevent the skin from drying out. Depending on your skin type, your skin might sometimes look worse for the first few days after treatment. But there is nothing to worry about. This is just a temporary effect and will go away.

Before planning to visit a spa or clinic it would be wise to get the opinion of a few people who had already performed the treatment in the same. Usually the spas and clinics try to impress the clients by showing them the before and after pictures of people who had microdermabrasion treatments. Although some of these pictures may be fake and misleading, the actual testimonials from the users are far more reliable.
